Jorinji is a business owned by a couple: Earnest Migaki, who is a third generation Japanese American born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and Yuri Migaki, who is Japanese and moved to Portland in 2015.
Our business was founded in 1995 by Earnest and his first wife, Sumiko (who is also Japanese). 18 years after the business began, Sumiko suddenly passed away. Earnest survived alone for couple years, and met Yuri in 2015; now Earnest and Yuri are running Jorinji together.
We basically wholesale our products to the metro areas of Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. Although it’s not a large amount, we sell our products to restaurants, bakeries, and customers through our monthly direct sales and events.
We will continue to do our best in providing products that are focused on Real and Natural Fermentation.
We believe this is the way miso can make people healthy and happy.
