Miso Soup -Potato & Onion-

 
 
 
 
 

Ingredients

2-3 servings

<A>

  • Water: 2 cups

  • Dried Kombu (Kelp): 2×2 inch

  • Diced Potato: 2.6 oz

  • Sliced Onion: 2 oz

<B>

  • Jorinji Miso: 1 - 1 1/3 tbsp.

  • Dried Bonito Flakes: 1 tbsp.
    (optional)

  • Chopped Green Onions / Cilantro to taste

 

Directions

  1. Put all the <A> ingredients into a pot.

  2. Cook it on medium heat.

  3. Remove the kombu just before it boils.

  4. Bring to a boil until the ingredients soften.

  5. Turn off the heat and add Jorinji Miso and mix well*3.

  6. After pouring the soup into bowls, sprinkle dried bonito flakes and chopped green onions or cilantro as garnish.

Additional Suggestions

  • You can use any kind of ingredients for miso soup. Find your favorite!

  • Miso soup will taste better if you remove the kombu, but you can keep it too & eat it since it has good minerals & fiber.

  • The ideal amount of miso depends on the ingredients and your own personal taste.
